Has the Board of Directors ever explored the potential of having Verizon install the necessary lines and equipment in Silver Ponds to give us the homeowners an opportunity to acquire cable and television service at a competitive rate. I was just hit with a $50 a month increase from last year and for less service. Are the other home owners who switched to Direct TV satisfied with the reception and service?

Verizon does not provide service in Brookhaven town. Our options are limited to Cablevision or satellite service. My understanding is Cablevision is in the process of being sold to a new company, Altice. What that means for our Rates I do not know.

About two years ago Cablevision proposed a reduced rate for Basic TV services. It was rejected because the rate would only be available if all 366 homes signed up. Premium service charges (HBO, ESPN, etc.) would remain the same.
I just installed an Amazon Fire Stick which gives you access to everything that cablevision and more. The one time cost is $40. You will still need Cablevision for phone and internet service but will pay nothing for TV and Movie services. My bill will be cut to less than half once I convert all the TV;s to Amazon Firestick

When I checked out firestick I could not find how to access live TV? It sounds very interesting. Would you be able to provide a little more detail. I have a smart TV so it should be easily adaptable.

I was wondering about having Direct TV installed in my home and to cancel Cablevision, however I was wondering if the homeowners in the community who have that service are satisfied with the quality of the picture and are satisfied with the Direct TV company?

I was wondering about having Direct TV installed in my home and to cancel Cablevision, however I was wondering if the homeowners in the community who have that service are satisfied with the quality of the picture and are satisfied with the Direct TV company? Bernman Ive resisted satellite for 2 reasons 1) the dish is an eyesore 2) Im concerned about buildup of snow and ice in the winter. Im not about to go out and remove the snow with a broom. If you desire Live TV there is a thing called Slingbox. My understanding is it has the main networks such as CBS and ESPN but doesnt include the local sports channels like MSG. It could be an issue if you like live sports. You could also reduce the package at Cablevision to broadcast basic which has the local stations for under $20 and then supplement with the Firestick to get movies.
